TYPICAL FOOD OF GERMANY

I think that one of the better things of travel is taste the typical food of the country. So in my trip to Germany and Austria I tasted really delicious food that I want to explain in the blog. Although in the title of this entry says «the typical food of Germany» I will only talk about the typical food I tasted.

I’ll describe all the meals in order, from the first to last day:

Ø First day we had to bring from home our food, so I’ll explain the second day. The second day we were in Linz. There we went to lunch in an Italian restaurant. I know that it also isn’t a Germany’s food but for dinner we went to a typical restaurant where the waiter was dressed with typical Austria clothes, because these day we were in Austria. In this restaurant we ate a typical soup that was delicious. We also ate chicken.  

Ø  He third day we was in Germany and for lunch I went to another typical restaurant where we ate a delicious sausage with a purée of potatoes. This potatoes was cook with an especial ingredients that made a delicious mixture. At night, we went to dinner to very renowned restaurant, where Hitler met to discuss and create the Nazi party. I have to say that the bread of Germany was very good and delicious but in this dinner we ate a very strange spread and cheese. For second dish we tasted a dough made it with flour, water, potatoes and another ingredients, the consistency of this dough looks like gelatin. There we also tasted the famous pretzel, which was really good.

Ø  Finally the last day we went to the same restaurant that in the third day. There we ate another strange dishes: a soup with pasta which looked as a bread in water but taste was good.

There was the new dishes I tasted in Germany. I realized that in Germany many spices used in cooking and everything is pretty spicy but I love taste the typical dishes of Germany.

DACHAU

This video is a project of school in which we have to recording us explaining one of the places we visited in our trip to Germany and Austria. As the video is explained in Spanish, I want to show you one of the concentration camps because was one of the most stunning things I lived and I’ll live.

In the video we was in Dachau. This concentration camp was the first of the Nazi concentration camp opened in Germany in 1933 by Heinrich Himmler. Dachau is located in the grounds of an abandoned munitions factory.

I can’t describe the feelings you have in places like this. I think that is so sad and terrible think that years ago in this ground the Nazis killed millions and millions of innocent people because they were different.

When we get inside Dachau we can visit different part of a concentration camp, for example we visit the prison, bunker, the reconstruction of barracks and the most shocking: gas chamber, we also saw where they did all the experiments using innocents life and crematorium. There was some places we saw, but even I knowing that this experience would be hard to see I never imagined it would be so shocking.

LETTER TO SUMMER

Dear summer,

I write this letter to you because I want you to know something. This year is being very difficult because I’m doing batxillerat and it is very stressful, there are a lot of exams and home works. I also begin to work in a butcher’s shop and combine work and studies is very difficult because it makes everything more stressful and tiring, but I like work because I think that the shop owners give me a big opportunity and I like it.

 

So I want to say that I miss you a lot and I need you to come soon. I miss your long days, your hot days, the relaxation of your season, the beautiful beaches… please come soon!

 

I know that this year it will a little more difficult because I have to work and I also have to do a research project, but at least I won’t have all these exams and home works. So I hope you behave as well or better than last year because was one of the best summers of my live.

 

I love you and I miss you so much, I hope see you soon.

ORAL PRESENTATION



Last Friday in English class I made an oral presentation about the status of women. So in this entry I’ll comment my mistakes and I hope that the next time I’ll improve.

As I could see in the video I was so nervous, I think that I was nervous because was he first time that I did an oral presentation alone, but of course I always get nervous when I speak in public.

Another things I think that I have to improve is my pronuntation and body language. About body language I think that it is because of the same problem: my nerves in front of people. And, of course, another mistake are orthographic or construction faults sentences.

 

So for the next time I’ll try to overcome these mistakes and get better mark. But I think that I will focus on improving nerves, body language and my pronunciation.

SUMMARY OF OFFICIALY DEAD.

First of all the theme of book is avarice and wanting to be rich. This book is about a marriage, Colin and Julia Fenton, who have a company (C.J.F. Software Solutions) and another marriage the Bentley’s.

When Colin Fenton was in a business trip in Bentwood he meet in a bar the Bentley’s, John and Linda, and unbelievably John and Colin were physically identical. After the meeting Linda, who have a perfect life with her husband and without economic problems, have an idea: steal the jewelry where she and John worked. From there, the whole story is about how they plan the robbery although at first John opposes because, in the past, he was in jail for theft, but finally he accept.

One day Linda meet Colin and offer him ten thousand pounds if the day of robbery, he will be the alibi. He only have to went to Manchester’s hotel with all the documentation and car of John and forge his signature. So Police believe that he hast been, even though he has a criminal records.

Linda’s plan didn’t work because when Colin was going to Manchester had an accident and died. Colin’s body was identified as John Bentley because in the accident he had John’s documents. Everybody thought that John was dead. In this situation the Bentley’s continued with the lie but they have another problem: Mark Ashwood, the only witness of the accident. When Mark tries to save his life Colin told him to give a message to his wife Julie.

Mark who was so altered and concerned decided to give the message to his wife in person. But when the police give him the address of Colin’s house and he was there he saw another man into the house and he also realized that the wife’s name was Linda and not Julie.

Finally Mark went to Julie house when he saw in the news that Julie searched for her husband and tell that something bad and strange was happening. So Julie and Mark try to uncover the truth and they get it. In the end Mark and Julie get married.

SON OF SAUL

Weeks ago in La Cate, located in Figueres, perform for the first time the famous and award-winning movie: Son of Saul. This event was impressive because La Cate is a cultural entity that together with another association, in which some of our history teachers are involved to remember the holocaust and all the dead from World War II, gave us the opportunity of saw this film. So in this entry I’ll do a summary of this amazing film that reflect well the situation of the prisoners of the Concentration Camps.

This film is about one Hungarian Jewish prisoner, named Saul, who is member of the Sonderkommando. He was forced to work burning the corpses of all the people that was murdered in gas chambers, even his family and friends. Among the dead, Saul discovered the body of a young boy he takes for his son and tries to save the dead body of the children for the flames of crematorium to find moral survival. Apart from there, all the film Saul tries to find a rabbi in the prisoners to give the boy a proper burial in secret.

In my view this film is so stunning because in the film we can see a lot of images that years ago were real, for example how Nazis lying to get them, all the prisoners, into a gas chamber or how they do experiments on prisoners. I also think that the film reflects well the hard work of Sonderkommando and how people tried to find a way to find a moral survival to feeling alive in that Heel.
